We, Metinvest and DTEK, part of SCM, Ukraine's largest investment group, with the support of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and jointly with municipal administrations, have created and are financing the Saving Lives Humanitarian Centre. A Сharitable Aid Foundation FUNDACJA RAZEM DAMY RADE - DO IT TOGETHER was established in Poland to implement the initiatives of the humanitarian project and to finance them.

What’s happening in Ukraine

On 24 February 2022, russia invaded Ukraine and unleashed a full-scale war that is causing civilian deaths each and every day. Many Ukrainian cities are now struggling for survival and are on the edge of a humanitarian disaster. Millions of refugees are fleeing from the war.

What we do

The initiative provides large-scale and continuous humanitarian assistance with the involvement of our international partners in the form of food and essential goods. In order to achieve this, we created a hub in Poland where we aggregate wholesale shipments that are delivered in coordination with the Government of Ukraine to the cities and the regions of Ukraine with the greatest need. We have been working in close cooperation with the local authorities and humanitarian headquarters and have the ability to engage local volunteers to organise aid distribution in the regions.

Our key partner-cities in Ukraine are Avdiivka, Zaporіzhzhia, Kryvyi Rih, Kamianske, Pokrovsk.

Why these localities? These are the towns and cities where our business operates and which are suffering, or may suffer, from the war the russian federation is waging against Ukraine. We are well aware of their needs and coordinate with local administrations to ensure that all of the aid reaches its recipients.

How to save lives

Civilians in Ukraine suffer not only from shelling and bombing, but also often from a lack of access to food, water, basic necessities, medical care and medicines. Basic needs include:

About us

Humanitarian center «Saving Lives»

Metinvest, DTEK and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation possess the required, and, in many ways, unique experience of implementing joint humanitarian projects. In addition, since the very beginning of an armed conflict in Donbas in 2014, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has been undertaking a unique humanitarian mission to provide civilians in Donetsk and Luhansk regions with medicines, food and essential items.

To prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the regions, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation delivered 12 million kits with vital supplies over the period that began in 2014 and helped five million people to survive. In 2020, together with the Government of Ukraine, we organised assistance to combat the COVID pandemic. In addition, as a business, we have well-established chains of procurement, logistics, financial and legal support for this initiative.

Our mission

We assist Ukrainian people to overcome the pain and fear of war by providing such essential items as food, medicine and humanitarian aid through involving our partners and engaging our business expertise and infrastructure.

Transparency for donors and partners

For an organization or company that wants to become a partner, participating in the Foundation's initiatives is an opportunity to contribute to saving lives in Ukraine, supporting the war-affected population. The Foundation operates on the principles of transparency and in accordance with best governance practices. For donors, partners and all stakeholders, we will regularly publish press releases, financial releases and reports on assistance provided to the population of Ukraine. The Foundation will be audited according to international reporting standards for NGOs and will publish reports on the website together with audit conclusions. In addition, we ready to provide information on the funds used on your individual request.
