On Friday, 15 June, RAZEM DAMY RADĘ – DO IT TOGETHER charity foundation representing the Saving Lives humanitarian initiative and FC Shakhtar Director of Football Darijo Srna have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The well-known football player will become the project's ambassador and a member of its Programme Council. The move is expected to involve the world's football community in helping Ukrainians in the front-line regions.
«Today, everyone of us sees the fragility of this world. Only by joining our efforts we can save children, women, and the elderly in Ukraine from starvation. More than 80 companies from all over the world have already joined the Do it together foundation. Charity work is a contribution everyone can make today for the sake of the future,” said Darijo Srna.
Darijo Srna has been doing charitable work for many years under the projects implemented by FC Shakhtar and its Shakhtar Social foundation. Since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, FC Shakhtar joined in helping Ukraine and Ukrainians. In spring, the club held a series of Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace charity matches. Overall, five friendly matches of the tour played by the team in spring in different European countries (Turkey, Croatia, Greece and Poland) secured UAH 13.2 million. All the charity projects rolled out by FC Shakhtar and its partners raised UAH 25.6 million during this period to help Ukraine. On 26 July, FC Shakhtar will begin the second series of charity matches by playing with AFC Ajax in Amsterdam.
