A group of 40 Metinvest women and children joined the psychological rehabilitation program "Unbreakable Mom" from the Masha Fund, which is supported by the humanitarian initiative of the Metinvest Group "Saving Lives". The project was created for families, women with children, who are undergoing a program to stabilize their emotional state. The next shift, already the seventieth, was taken by the Morshyn resort.
Mothers, wives, daughters and sons of metinvestors who died at the front learned to live a full life anew. Forty women and children from Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, and Kamianske underwent a rehabilitation course in Prykarpattia at the "Morshinsky" sanatorium, where specialists from the "Unbreakable Mom" program worked with them.
In the morning, exercise to have energy for the whole day, healing water from the spring of the Mother of God, an early breakfast at 10 o'clock to get a good night's sleep. And then a rich program according to the schedule. Specialists of the "Unbreakable Mom" rehabilitation program have a lot of positive experience of how to help women and children who have lost their loved ones to continue living fully and not to be alone with their troubles. Like Oksana Gurenko from Kryvyi Rih, the widow of Vladyslav Omelchenko, who before the war worked as a crusher at the Northern GZK.
- I confess that I did not want to go here at all. My 14-year-old son persuaded me, simply forced me. Now I am very grateful to him for this, because it is wonderful here. Local nature is simply a delight. I had never been to Prykarpattia before. I have already planned excursions for the weekend, now I'm waiting. All our days are very busy. I already feel changes in myself. In physical therapy classes, we were taught to relax, because in the last months I was always tense, tight. And I started to sleep. And I have already forgotten how it is. Because at home I managed to doze off only for a couple of hours and that was it, but here I fall asleep instantly. Either air or therapy, but it works. It's like I'm returning to my former self. Many thanks to the organizers for such a wonderful initiative, - shared Oksana Gurenko, a participant of the "Unbreakable Mom" program.
The psychological rehabilitation program lasted three weeks, during which participants will be involved in various activities. These were group and individual consultations for children and adults, physical therapy, family evenings by the fire, art workshops, beauty evenings and parades, sports games and color parties, hikes to the mountains and to clean springs.
- I thank Metinvest. First, for cooperation. Secondly, for the wonderful women with whom we are happy to work. They strive for life and appreciate it, go to all our events. This makes us incredibly happy and motivated. The Masha Foundation has been cooperating with the humanitarian initiative "Saving Life" since 2022, and during this time we have developed very warm and, most importantly, reliable relations. We made many changes together. In general, since the start of the "Unbreakable Mom" psychological rehabilitation program, we have provided assistance to 1,680 women and 1,700 of their children. Now we have the 70th race and we do not plan to stop, - assured Valentina Bilmach, the head of the project "Unbreakable Mom" of the NGO "Masha Foundation".
The Saving Lives humanitarian initiative was launched by Metinvest Group in concert with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation since the onset of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. More than 500,000 people in 70 communities have benefited from the assistance since the all-out war began. Ukrainians received around 4,200 tonnes of food products and hygiene items, and hospitals benefited from medicines, consumables, and equipment worth €250,000.
Nearly 250 businesses around the globe, 400 volunteers, and 10 foundations and NGOs have joined the initiative. The total aid received from donors exceeds €2.7 million.
Saving Lives focuses on providing prosthetic care and rehabilitation to Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, as well as improving psychological and emotional well-being of women and children.
