Food packages from Saving Lives arrive at Avdiivka

Humanitarian aid packages continue to arrive at Avdiivka. Despite the continued heavy shelling, the remaining local residents receive them regularly. The assistance comes from the Saving Lives humanitarian project established by Metinvest Group and DTEK in concert with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation and is available both for residents of high-rise buildings and private sector.

Over the past two weeks, locals received 1,570 food packages, and since the onset of active hostilities more than 16,000 survival kits were handed over to Avdiivka residents. Food kits include
· flour;
· grits;
· pasta;
· oil;
· tinned meat;
· tinned fish;
· sugar
· and condensed milk.

The composition of food packages meets the WHO recommendations for intake of calories and essential nutrients.

The Saving Lives initiative has already delivered more than 3 tonnes of essentials to Ukrainian cities, towns and villages. They were handed over to almost 90,000 Ukrainians, mostly vulnerable people, such as the elderly, children and women.
