Since the first days of the war, Metinvest Group has led the humanitarian efforts and, together with DTEK and in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, established the Saving Lives humanitarian project. Initially, these businesses funded the initiative, but very quickly their partners, clients, and employees started providing help.
Since Do it together charity foundation started operating, employees of the Ukrainian and foreign businesses of the company have transferred €100,000 to a special account: https://bit.ly/DoItTogetherFund.
This money is used to buy food and medicines for those in need. The assistance is consolidated in two hubs based in Poland, and then sent to distribution centres located on sites of Metinvest Group's businesses in Ukraine. This much-needed aid goes to Zaporizhia, Krivyi Rih, Kamianske, Pokrovsk, and Avdiivka.
In addition, Metinvest Group's employees not only transfer money, but also form humanitarian packages for distribution and prepare foodstuffs to build up strategic food reserves at the Group's businesses.
Metinvest Group's CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov has recently been to the company's humanitarian hubs in Zaporizhia and Kryvyi Rih and talked to volunteers.
"We can't choose the time to live but we can choose how to respond to challenges. I am very proud that all Metinvest employees show dignity and integrity. Our colleagues are everywhere: they have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Territorial Defence Forces to defend our country, they support the economic front, and put their hearts into the humanitarian and volunteer movement. I want to thank everyone who have joined the Saving Lives project and I invite more people around the world to join in," said Yuriy Ryzhenkov.
