Metinvest provides vitamins for IDPs from Mariupol and Avdiivka

Free vitamins are available to IDPs in the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centres of the company in Kamianske and Zaporizhia. The Saving Lives project launched by the biggest SCM companies Metinvest and DTEK in concert with FC Shakhtar has provided 1,500 packets of vitamins for IDPs.

Spring and summer is the best time to take care of health and reinforce it with vitamins. This is especially true for IDPs who remained without normal meals, quality water, and sunlight for weeks.

Metinvest Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centres have started providing vitamin complexes to IDPs recently.

“When I was in Mariupol, we did not have normal food and water. We were undernourished and drank rainwater or melted snow. This has definitely affected out health. I think that after being in those conditions, we need to improve our health and boost our immune system. I have received vitamins for the whole family – for myself, my mother, stepfather, and sister,” said Anton from Mariupol.

According to medics, virtually everyone who has fled the war zone needs an increased intake of vitamins and minerals.

"People cannot always afford buying even vegetables or fruits that contain nutrients. Vitamins and minerals are very important for restoring health, overcoming stress and adapting to new living conditions,” said nurse Hanna Rastiahaeva.

Vitamin complexes for adults, teenagers, and children were sourced by the Saving Lives humanitarian project. IDPs have received 1,500 packs of certified supplements.

"People often asked us if it was possible to get vitamins for themselves and their children. We have responded to this request, and from now on IDPs can receive vitamins in addition to the usual medicines, as prescribed by doctors from Metinvest Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centre," said Mykola Osychenko, Head of Metinvest Reintegration and Rehabilitation Centre.

The Centres underline that IDPs from Mariupol and Avdiivka can also receive medical care and medicines at their place of stay.
“Metinvest has helped resettle many people from Avdiivka and Mariupol. Vitamins and medicines for adults and children will also be distributed there,” said Ksenia Sukhova, a coordinator of the Metinvest Reintegration and Rehabilitation Centres project.

As a reminder, the Saving Lives humanitarian project was launched in the early days of the war by Metinvest Group and DTEK, SCM's largest businesses, in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation to prevent a food disaster in Ukraine and help people in Ukraine's hottest spots.

In addition to food and essentials, the initiative sources medicines and consumables to hospitals in Zaporizhia and Kamianske.
The Do It Together Foundation of the Saving Lives humanitarian initiative has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Agritrade Ukraine, the Coordination Centre of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture. This is the first strategic partnership between Germany and Ukraine under the project. The Memorandum will help expand the geographical area and number of beneficiaries. About 30,000 children, women, and the elderly will be able to live better and receive what they need most.
