Saving Lives humanitarian project provides 18,500 food packages to Avdiivka locals

Avdiivka locals have already received 18,500 food packages from the Saving Lives humanitarian project. These survival kits are essential for people who have to literally live in the basements and cook food over open fires. Every package contains non-perishable foodstuffs such as flour, cereals, pasta, oil, canned meat and fish, sugar and condensed milk.

The survival kits are delivered when the town becomes relatively quiet and the shelling subsides a little because Avdiivka is never absolutely quiet these days. The kits are handed over by employees of Metinvest Group's Avdiivka Coke Plant.

The Saving Lives humanitarian initiative was established by Metinvest and DTEK in coordination with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Over four months since its inception, the project has helped 122,551 people in different regions of Ukraine, mostly internally displaced persons, residents of de-occupied areas, vulnerable people, families of conscripted employees of Metinvest and welfare beneficiaries.

In addition, the humanitarian project will reach more than 30,000 retired employees of Metinvest businesses as such assistance helps save family budget and time of the elderly people who have to search for the most needed foodstuffs.
