Several thousand food packages with essentials will be delivered to Donetsk region as part of the Saving Lives project, including 4,000 kits that will reach Kostiantynivka community. Employees of Zaporizhia-based plants of Metinvest act as volunteers to form the survival kits.
"We are currently shipping 4,000 packages for Kostiantynivka amalgamated community. Shipments are also planned for other communities in Donetsk Oblast, Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. In particular, the packages include cereals, pasta, flour, sugar, condensed milk, oil, and canned meat," said Yaroslav Moroz, the head of the design unit, Operational Improvement Directorate at Zaporizhstal.
Since the outbreak of the war, the Saving lives humanitarian project has translated into one of the biggest relief programmes supporting Ukrainians: more than 238,000 Ukrainians have already received food and hygiene kits, medicines and consumables. Beneficiaries are vulnerable categories: families of drafted Metinvest employees and those in receipt of benefits and social care, retired employees of the company's enterprises, shelter inmates and residents of liberated areas. Food packages and hygiene kits have been sent to 37 communities in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Kherson oblasts.
It should be noted that international partners from all over the world have joined the Saving Lives humanitarian project. Currently, the project is supported by almost 100 donors and partners from Germany, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Greece, UAE, and other countries.
