Students and professors from Mariupol receive assistance from Saving Lives

The Saving Lives humanitarian project run by Metinvest Group in concert with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has supported students, professors, and staff members of Mariupol State University, which is currently based in Kyiv.

Since the outbreak of the war, Saving Lives has been helping the displaced, vulnerable groups, residents of the frontline areas and liberated territories, distributing food products and essentials. Mariupol State University has recently asked for help. Currently, the university is based in Kyiv, as the Azov area is occupied by Russians. Metinvest has handed over 600 packages with long-shelf life food products to support students, professors, and staff members of Mariupol State University in these dire times.

"The Humanitarian Centre of Mariupol University has been successfully operating for seven months. Thanks to the reliable support of the Saving Lives project run by Metinvest in concert with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, we can provide the much-needed assistance to the displaced Mariupol residents. Among them are staff members, professors, and students of our university. On behalf of the entire academic family we are grateful to you for your contribution to this good cause! We are proud of doing good together with you," stated the President of Mariupol State University Mykola Trofymenko.

This is not the first time that Saving Lives has helped the university. Earlier, its representatives received 500 food packages. The assistance has gone far beyond. Last year, the humanitarian project helped three female university students present their video work about the crimes of the Russian Federation against Mariupol civilians at the Believe Film Festival in Verona, Italy. The girls say that we all must tell the world about Mariupol wherever possible. You can watch their video on YouTube.

More than 400,000 people have benefited from the aid and assistance provided by Saving Lives since the start of the war. The geography of aid including food products, hygiene kits, and essentials covers 70 communities across Ukraine.
