Mariupol is a native city of Dmytro Ksenita. Despite the fact that the man was in Zaporizhzhia at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, it cannot be said that he was lucky. Because his whole family stayed in the hero city, which suffered from shelling. All Dmytro could do for his relatives at that moment was to persistently ask them to leave and hope that the way for his family would be more or less safe.
And while Dmytro’s relatives desperately tried to leave Mariupol, he turned all his experiences into energy, which he spent on helping the forced migrants. Dmytro says that the “Saving Lives” project helped a lot in working with forced migrants, as the humanitarian kits were quickly provided to people who needed them.
Now the relatives of Dmytro are together with him. They even succeeded to bring their pet with them. So, the man continues his volunteer mission, but he is more calm now and together with his family.
