Celebrating Children's Day with Saving Lives project
All children have the right to a happy childhood, with fun, hugging, warm meetings, loud playing, and gifts – on a special occasion, or no occasion at all. Adults must take care of children even in the most difficult times. Many children had to go through the ordeals that should have never happened to them. For this very reason, Metinvest organised a number of events for IDPs to mark the Children's Day in the areas of its operations.
The Saving Lives project also joined the initiative in Kamianske. As part of the drive, children received sweet gifts from Agritrade Ukraine, the Coordination Centre of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
In particular, young workers of Kametstal and Avdiivka Coke Plant conducted an exciting entertainment programme for displaced kids in Lisova Kazka [Forest Tale] Children's Health Improvement Resort. The guests laughed, danced, and had an adventurous quest game. Kametstal CEO Dmytro Lyppa and Avdiivka Code CEO Vitaliy Lytovka joined the event to show their support to colleagues from Mariupol, Avdiivka, and New York.
“Despite the situation in our country, we give warmth to our children and hope that summer will be much better than spring – full of amusement, health benefits, and sunshine. And our children will be fine,” said Kametstal CEO Dmytro Lyppa.
There was a lovely surprise at the end of the play day: all guests received gift sets from Metinvest Group and the Saving Lives humanitarian project.
