SCM businesses delivered more than 117 tonnes of essentials to Ukraine under Saving Lives project

More than 117 tonnes of most needed items arrived in Zaporizhzhia from the Poland-based humanitarian hub. The humanitarian aid distribution centre operating at Zaporizhstal steel mill is going to form humanitarian packages for the besieged cities and towns, said Metinvest CEO Yuriy Ryzhenkov.

“We have delivered 117 tonnes of essentials from Poland, such as long-term storage food and medical supplies, and 300 more tonnes are currently on the way. We’ve sent over 1,000 tonnes of aid from the Zaporizhia-based centre where we sort out both European aid and our procurements we make in Ukraine,” he added.

According to Yuriy Ryzhenkov, Metinvest Poland operates a humanitarian hub where Metinvest and DTEK, with the support of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, source and collect humanitarian assistance provided by European countries.

“The aid is collected and then sent to the Humanitarian Centre operating at Zaporizhstal where we sort it out, form and deliver packages to the cities and towns where we can bring the supplies,” said Yuri Ryzhenkov.
