Stop the humanitarian crisis: over 142,000 Ukrainians benefit from Saving Lives’ aid

More than 142,000 residents of the frontline regions have already received humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov’s charity initiative Saving Lives. The project provides access for dozens of thousands of people to food, essential goods, hygiene products, and medicines from Europe every month.

SCM’s businesses are the main source of funding for the humanitarian project. So far, the initiative has spent UAH 6.547 million on the purchase and logistics of humanitarian goods. The project has received €1.764 million in donations. Almost 90 companies from three continents have joined the charity initiative.

Over five months, 3,419 tonnes of essentials have already been delivered to the base localities of the project: Zaporizhia (1,331 tonnes), Kryvyi Rih (1,023 tonnes), Kamianske (549 tonnes), and Dnipro (516 tonnes). There the humanitarian aid is distributed among those who need help. The primary beneficiaries are socially vulnerable groups: mothers with many children, people with disabilities, pensioners, displaced people, and families of Metinvest’s mobilised employees. In addition, the aid is used to make strategic provision reserves in the frontline localities in case the situation worsens.

The humanitarian aid packages are delivered and distributed even in the hottest spots, in particular in Avdiivka, which is shelled daily by the invaders. The employees of Avdiivka Coke Plant help hand over the packages there. To date, residents of the town and nearby villages have already received 20,650 food kits.

The project delivers aid to residents of communities located near the conflict area, in addition to the localities of presence. In particular, 4,500 food packages were distributed among residents of Zelenodolsk and Apostolove communities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
