The humanitarian initiative of SCM businesses has covered even more frontline territories since August. Now thousands of residents of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk communities can access food kits from the project. This will significantly improve the humanitarian situation in the region.
15 communities in Donetsk Oblast and 2 communities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast will start receiving aid soon. They are Kostiantynivka, Dobropillia, Selydove, Druzhkivka, Hrodivka, Oleksandrivka, Novohrodivka, Bilozerske, Illinivka, Novodonetske, Kryvorizhia, Andriivka, Shahove, Cherkaske communities in Donetsk Oblast, as well as Apostolove and Zelenodolsk communities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
About 25,000 food packages will reach them in August. This assistance is very important for the residents, because they live close to, or even directly in, the combat area. As ongoing enemy shelling has already disrupted the logistics in these regions, bringing food to civilians to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe is a priority objective for the project.
The primary beneficiaries are socially vulnerable groups: mothers with many children, people with disabilities, pensioners, and displaced people.
Thanks to the financing provided by Metinvest and DTEK, as well as the support of our partners — almost 90 donor companies from all over the world — the Saving Lives project has helped more than 142,000 Ukrainians in the frontline regions over five months. The project provides access for dozens of thousands of people to food, essential goods, and medicines from Europe every month.
